Newton Launchers!
Primary 4/5 launched a variety of toy vehicles with forces of up to 10 Newtons and recorded the distance travelled. Children then placed a sheet of card on the front of their vehicle and repeated the experiment to find any differences. We discussed the effects of friction, wind resistance and introduced the concept of streamlining.
