Investigating Forces!

P4/5 have been investigating how friction affects motion. We tested a variety of surfaces to determine which would generate most friction and and bring a toy car to a stop at the shortest distance. We have also had fun during a jelly experiment and used this to discuss when more or less friction is useful in real life situations. We have started work on researching Isaac Newton and enjoyed using a spring balance to meaure how much force was needed to move a variety of classroom objects.
